Winterguard places 4th at WGI!

The Santa Clara Vanguard Independent World Winterguard is an indoor colorguard that travels and performs in competitions during the winter months each year. The World class winterguard provides instruction for the experienced performer in the areas of dance, movement, and colorguard choreography. Many members of the winterguard continue on with the Vanguard and Vanguard Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps during the summer.

The SCV Independent World Winterguard returned to the competition scene in 2006 after a two-decade hiatus. The winterguard competes in the California Colorguard Circuit (CCGC) and travels in April to the Winter Guard International (WGI) championships in Dayton, OH. The winterguard won it's first California Colorguard Circuit championship in 1968, and obtained additional CCGC titles in 1970, 1971, and 1976.
